Hermes Can Do Telegram Topics

I’ve known about Telegram Topics for a while. Turned it on in a few groups, thought it was a nice UI feature for keeping conversations separate. That’s where my understanding ended.

Then I installed Hermes — been using it two days now — and we set up a group for me, my wife, and my dog (yes, the dog has a Telegram group). While walking through the config, I described wanting different channels for different kinds of messages.

Turns out Hermes can speak directly into Topics. It auto-detects which topic a message comes from, routes replies into the right thread, and when you schedule something like a daily digest it can target a specific topic instead of dumping everything into General. The cronjob tool has a deliver field that handles all of this.

I didn’t have to build anything. The topic awareness was already there.
